04. THE LONDON COWBOYS "Street Full Of Soul"/"Let's Get Crazy" (1983)

Specialy dedicated to all The SONS OF THE DOLLS

From all the bands inspired by the New York Dolls, The London Cowboys were certainly one of the best... Steve Dior and Barry Jones, london boys, first formed the Idols with Jerry Nolan who just left the Hearbreakers and Arthur Kane. Barry was also a punk club manager, co-founder of the legendary Roxy in London and working at the Max's Kansas City in NY in the late 70's. Steve also joined the Professionals with some ex-Pistols. The London Cowboys played from early 80's to early 90's with different line-ups including Nolan, Glen Matlock, Terry Chimes or Tony James. They released 3 albums (including the classic "Animal Pleasure" and 7 singles, even having good airplay in France with their 2 first singles (not the best ones...). Here's 1983 single produced by Matlock who played on it and even signed the A side. This is the english pressing on Flicknife although it was also realised on France on Skydog. I've got mine dedicated by Steve Dior and Barry Jones when they came in my hometown for a gig and I remember them looking at the cover, they haven't seen it before that day!! I was fifteen at that time and Barry write me "Keep Rockin Remi"...Well I try Barry I try... Now Barry leaves in California and Steve Dior is still playing in The Steve Dior Band ...
